MEET THE TEAM
Key principals of the business have over 50 years combined experience of working with Pharmaceutical Companies. Have a look at the profiles of our core team. We really can add gravitas to a KOL development programme and our professional approach to project management and ensuring we have the correct people, with the right experience, in place at the right time ensures each programme runs like clockwork.

Martin set up Inspire Change in 1999 and has since trained thousands of Consultants, GPs, Specialist Registrars, Pharmacists, Prescribing Advisors, Nurses and Pharmaceutical Industry teams. His unique skills as a professional and talented facilitator, and his gentle but firm approach to coaching individuals has made a big difference to all those he has trained.

They comment particularly on his ability to work with any and every type of audience or group, from being MC of large conferences to engaging in one to one coaching.
Hilary Shields
Hilary has over 16 years’ experience of working in the Pharmaceutical Industry (in sales, management, clinical research and training). She has a depth and breadth of experience that brings real insight and learning to the courses that she runs for Inspire Change.
Hilary is a Director of Inspire Change, is a qualified Transactional Analysis Practitioner and is also Belbin accredited. Affectionately known by the Inspire Change team as ‘Judge Judy’, she has been a troubleshooter for several NHS organisations; a skill no doubt enhanced by the fact that she is a local magistrate.
Her humorous, challenging and interactive style with delegates is enjoyed and appreciated and she has experience in working not only with the healthcare sector, but with a wide variety of customer groups such as Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs and the House of Commons.
Paul Richmond
Paul is a qualified chartered accountant, but despite that has a fantastic sense of humour! He has held senior positions in commercial organisations before becoming a professional trainer, where his personable approach coupled with his experience in commerce has been valuable in heading up workshops where the content is focussed on negotiation & leadership skills.
Helen Littlewood
Helen’s experience spans over 20 years in the pharmaceutical and healthcare environment; she is an accomplished coach, trainer and facilitator who specialises in leadership, change management, team building and organisational development.
Helen’s style is described as innovative, challenging and fun. She has made a real difference to the careers of people she has worked with.
Bob Shields
One of the key ingredients for running successful courses is meticulous planning, particularly where a large number of delegates are involved participating within different workshops simultaneously. So (military) planning is essential.
Squadron Leader Bob Shields MVO RAF (Ret'd) heads up our Logistics & Project Management team. Bob (or PMB as he is affectionately known), retired from the RAF after 38 years' service as a navigator. In 1993, Bob was invested by Her Majesty The Queen as a Member of the Royal Victorian Order in recognition of his service to the Royal Family over a period of 15 years on The Queen's Flight; during this time, Bob flew every Member of the Royal Family and was Personal Navigator to HRH The Prince of Wales.
Bob's military background has enabled him to develop sound planning and organisational skills, and his warm personality has made him a firm favourite with Inspire Change's customers. His experience of protocol, etiquette and detailed planning bring a unique dimension to his project management and logistical skills for Inspire Change.
Helen Pointer
Combining Helen's creative skills as a celebrated caricaturist and artist with a successful career in senior management, Helen brings a breath of fresh air to any training event.
Helen is highly professional, engaging with a sparkling personality and a wicked sense of humour.
Able to be versatile and adaptable to the needs of the audience, she is willing to facilitate both formally and informally to ensure the success of the event.
Ice breakers, team building, after dinner & motivational speaking are all aspects of Helen’s strengths.
Helen Carter
Helen joined the Inspire Change team in 2008, bringing with her over 20 years’ experience of working with the top pharmaceutical companies. Her impressive background in Sales, Customer Focus, Business and People Management roles at a senior level gives her a significant advantage in understanding the many and varied challenges in the healthcare arena.
A subject matter expert in Business Performance and E-Detailing, Helen's insight and focus on practical solutions are prized assets; her particular forte is working with delegates – either on a one-to-one basis or when facilitating one of our many practical and inspiring workshops. She believes each workshop brings its own challenges and that everyone has the potential to develop; as Helen says:” it's a great feeling when the people piece of the jigsaw fits the objectives so well".
An ardent fan of Welsh rugby, Helen brings vibrancy and freshness to the team – valuable attributes which will further enhance the skills base of Inspire Change.
Julian Presant-Collins
Julian's background is in sales & marketing and as well as championing our marketing efforts at Inspire Change, he works closely with Med Ed Agencies designing the most appropriate KOL Development Programmes. He has over 20 years experience in marketing (delivering offline & online campaigns for many of the country's blue chip organisations), and from working at senior management level within WPP owned agency environments, he really understands the agency world.
Nick Horrell
Nick is pivotal in the delivery of our successful Home Strait course where each delegate receives a DVD of their interview to take away. He is eminently qualified: he was in broadcasting for 12 years, working his way through ITV and the BBC to become one of the country's youngest television reporters at the age of 26. Reporting to network and regional BBC news programmes, Nick has reported on many events including political protests, riots and serious crime.
Since 1998 he has been an independent producer providing media training and promotional videos to a large number of clients. He has helped train the Chief Executive of Hertfordshire County Council, as well as senior staff at Buckinghamshire County Council, The Environment Agency and Hi Tec Sports UK.

His specialist area is Media Training, and he also trains in Interview Skills and Presentation Skills for Inspire Change.

Peter takes genuine delight in encouraging people to learn, to believe in themselves and to fulfil their potential. His infectious enthusiasm makes him a highly effective independent business coach, trainer and consultant.
Geri Phillips
Geri manages our Head Office facilities, making sure that we have created the necessary course notes and material and that everything is received at the correct location in plenty of time. It's a challenging task given the number of programmes we produce, the multiple workshops contained in each programme and the sheer number of delegates we train each year.
Emily Eldershaw
Emily joined the Inspire Change team in 2007 as Project Manager. Her professional background includes a Degree in Drama – some might say an essential tool in dealing with and understanding some of the varied and high profile characters and courses involved with Inspire Change! Primary among Emily’s many roles are the management and organisation of the KOL development programmes we run; she is also the key point of contact for clients and delegates on the many courses and meetings run by Inspire Change.
Jenny Baker
Jenny is the newest member of our team and fulfils the very important role of team PA. Coming to us, as she does, from a large multinational where she was PA to the Head of Training, Jenny brings a great deal of understanding of the needs and virtues of the Inspire Change team. Her roles include supporting the planning and logistics of our large programmes for KOLs, as well as ensuring that everyone involved in our various programmes is in the right place at the right time. No mean feat! Additionally, Jenny assists with the research of suitable hotel & conference venues and produces course notes for many of our customer-tailored workshops.
Mike Barron
Mike has been training now for 20 years.
He began his career as an IT trainer in the financial services industry before becoming a Learning and Development manager and developing a programme of soft skills coaching for managers. He moved to the NHS after 12 years to concentrate on IT and performance management training, leading a team of 12 trainers.
In 2008 he left the NHS to become a freelance trainer and consultant and has worked extensively with Inspire Change since then.
Mike says "I left the NHS so that I could develop the personal development side of training that I enjoy so much. Inspire have enabled me to do just that. The challenge is always to deliver the best I can - but with a smile!"
When not training Mike enjoys going to concerts with his teenage son.
