Dear Subscriber
I love my job. It is one of the most satisfying things I do, probably because it is so rewarding. These are the thoughts that run through my head when we hear the screams of delight as another candidate phones to say they have been successful in their search for a new post - and it never fails to give me a real buzz.
Coaching is a small part of what we do in relation to the many training programmes we run and the thousands of delegates who attend our skills workshops. Stelios Hadji Ioannou, when running EasyJet, said as MD he was allowed a route that was not very profitable. He chose Nice. Why? Because he had a property there which gave him great pleasure. Often, we do things for enjoyment, not profit. Coaching is a bit like that for me.
All our trainers and consultants at Inspire Change agree that while so very time consuming, what Inspire Change learn in the process of coaching is priceless, and so important to our business. Yes, it is very satisfying (equally, not everyone is successful and we share those lows as well), but it also allows us to get under the skin of the NHS and really understand the workings of this unique organisation – and that is why it is so beneficial to Inspire Change, because it helps us be better as trainers in this sector when we understand the many challenges and different working practices adopted by PCTs and others involved in all the changes in the NHS.
So, good luck to all of you who have worked with us in the last few months and been successful, and for everyone else we look forward to continuing the onward and upward journey with you.
Regards,
Martin Clarke
